BRISTOL, R.I. – RWU junior Cy Thompson (St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands) was named RWU Male Athlete of the Week after he and teammate Kelly Stannard (Salem, Conn.) won the A Division of the Intercollegiate Sailing Association Coed Dinghy National Semifinals.

Sailing in Seattle, Washington throughout last weekend, the duo never finished lower than eighth and ran off top-three performances in five of the ten races, including a win in the final race that vaulted them past regatta winner Yale University for the win in the division. Combined with the strong performance of RWU teammates in the B Division, the Hawks qualified to compete in the ICSA National Championships in June.

The RWU Sailing team returns to action this weekend in Newport, competing for the Fowle Trophy in the 61^st New England Team Racing Championships.
