BRISTOL, R.I. – RWU Wrestler Shane Parcel (Pine Brook, N.J.) earned both the Pilgrim League Rookie Wrestler of the Week and RWU Male Athlete of the Week after posting a perfect 3-0 record last week including three wins-by-fall.

Wrestling in the 174 weight class, Parcel was perfect at the New England Wrestling Association Dual Meet Championships, pinning opponents from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Norwich University and Trinity College. In his first bout of the day he pinned USCGA senior captain Will Stark (West Milford, N.J.), ranked #3 in New England at 174, with a time of 4:37.

Parcel went on to pin Norwich freshman Frannie Armstrong (Hanover, Mass.) in the first period at 2:59 and completed the day needing just 1:26 to pin sophomore Mason West (Northbrook, Ill.) of Trinity College.  

Parcel and the Hawks host Pilgrim League-leading Bridgewater State College next, Wednesday, beginning at 6 p.m.
