Baseball gets another split against Babson

ORLANDO, Fla. – On the second day of the team's Florida spring break trip, the Roger Williams University Baseball team managed another split against Babson College, defeating the Badgers 5-4 in the first game before dropping the second 3-4 in 10 innings.

Sam Podbelski (East Greenwich, R.I.) made his season debut in the opener, going six innings and allowing two runs with four strikeouts while earning the win. Tyler Pogmore (Lebanon, Conn.) pitched the final two outs of the contest to earn his first collegiate save. Trevor Manzi (Beverly, Mass.) finished 2-for-2 at the plate with a walk and two runs scored.

In the second game, Sean Boyle (Arlington, Mass.) pitched a solid game in his first career start as a Hawk, going seven innings, scattering six hits and allowing two runs with four strikeouts but not factoring in the decision. Mike Pascarella (Milford, Conn.) finished 2-for-3 from the plate with a stolen base and two runs scored.

Roger Williams (2-2) plays Bowdoin College Monday morning in a doubleheader beginning at 11:00 a.m.
