SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball team began the Springfield College Invitational with a 3-0 win over the University of New England in a non-conference match Friday evening.

The Hawks were able to take the match by the scores 25-17, 25-17, 25-11.

RWU was led by Krystie Luczynski (Kensington, Conn.), who finished with ten kills. Marybeth Torpey (Quincy, Mass.) had a solid game with ten kills as well to go along with nine digs.

Kelsee Loche (Millis, Mass.) led the Hawks defensively with 18 digs, in addition to three service aces. Marilu Gonzalez-Yanez (Los Angeles, Calif.) added seven digs and four service aces. Emily Lebowitz (Coventry, Conn.) handed out 35 assists to go along with her four service aces.

Roger Williams (2-0) will have a busy slate on Saturday, as the Hawks will take on Westfield State College, Plymouth State College, and Springfield College.
