Salve Regina rallies against Men's Soccer for win

Box Score NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina University notched a 2-1 win over the Roger Williams University Men's Soccer team Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action.
 
Roger Williams now owns a 21-11-3 record in the all-time series, but Salve Regina has posted a 5-1-2 mark in the last eight meetings including wins each of the last three seasons.
 
Roger Williams sophomore Seth Janson (Avon, Conn.) - kept constant pressure on the Seahawks with drives down the left sideline. After a series of point-blank saves by Payan, Janson scored the game's first goal at 48:27.
 
Salve Regina junior Nolan Brady (Needham, Mass.) - scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season, the latter unassisted to win the game. He now has most goals scored on Seahawks in 2015. With his first multiple-goal game, Nolan Brady has doubled his single-season best total for goals (six in 2015; three in 2014).
 
Salve Regina junior Evan Dudney (North Andover, Mass.) lifted a feed into the box for Nolan Brady who scored the game-tying goal while breaking free from having his shirt grabbed.
 
Salve Regina breaks its tie with Roger Williams for seventh place in CCC standings, and are now tied with Curry for sixth place, although Colonels have the tiebreak in head-to-head meeting.
 
Salve freshman keeper Michael Payan (Fort Lee, N.J.) handled a lot of traffic in front of his net, finishing with a career-high 14 saves on the afternoon for his third victory of the season.
 
Nick Nelson (Madison, Conn.) made five saves while seeing his record drop to 2-4-0 on the season.
 
Salve Regina (4-8-1, 2-3-0 CCC) plays next at Eastern Nazarene on Saturday, October 17. Roger Williams (4-7-1, 1-4-0 CCC) hosts UMass-Dartmouth Tuesday, October 13.
