Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. - The Roger Williams University Baseball team drops final game in Florida to Bowdoin 18-3.  The Hawks overall record slides to 2-9 while the Polar Bears of Bowdoin improves to 2-4. 

Bowdoin picked up two run in the bottom of the first to take the early lead.  

The Hawks answered in the top of the second inning sending eight batter to the plate and squaring the game at two a piece. Shawn Cariglio    (Milford, Conn.) opened the inning with a base on balls. Reid Nelson (Wallingford, Conn.) singled to advance Cariglio into scoring position.  Chris Travers (East Freetown, Mass.) singled to score Cariglio and put runners on first and second base. Matt Moskal (Hamden, Conn.) was hit by a pitch to load the bases and Jamie Timothy (Cohasset, Mass.) also took a bean ball to force a second run in.

Bowdoin picked up three runs in the bottom of second.  Two of the scoring runners arrived on the bases as a result of being hit by pitches.

The Hawks scored their final run in the top of the fourth on a Kevin Baker    (Wilbraham, Mass.) single that scored Zach Tavano (Londonberry, N.H.) who made it on base via a Polar Bear error.

Bowdoin capitalized on a lack of fresh arms for the Hawks and scored 12 runs in the final five innings to put the game out of reach.

The Hawks next two scheduled home games have been canceled due to field conditions (March 17 vs. RIC and March 20 vs. St. Joesph's).  The March 21 scheduled doubleheader at Gordon College is considering a venue change as is the March 22 game schedule at home versus Wentworth.
