The Hawks Win Their First Conference Match in Three Defeating Curry College

Box Score Bristol, RI- The Roger Williams University women's volleyball team defeats Curry College in three on Friday night. The Hawks came out strong against Curry College in an easy three set match. The hawks had 41 kills on the night hitting a .274 with 13 services aces.
The first set started off going point for point until the Hawks pulled away going 10-4. Each player on the Roger Williams volleyball team would go on a three to four point services run. Senior, Nicole Weber, had two kills in a row to put the hawks at 10-4, Junior Cassandra Minogue, would then go on serving run to put the hawks at 14-7. The hawks finished the match 25-17.
The second set the hawks were again, off to a good start. Freshman, Nicki Fallisi had 3 aces in a row taking the Hawks to 7-2. The Hawks wouldn't stop there, with kills from Junior, Kristen Boyer and Freshman Taylor McCarthy, the Hawks were at 14-7. With a serving error, points were deducted from the Roger Williams University women's volleyball team. The score went down to 8-7, but sophomore Maria Bates, would again bring the Hawks to 13-7. The hawks finished the 25-11.
The third set seemed like it was going to be a close set going point for point until 7-7 when the Hawks decided to pull away. Sophomore, Abby Gordon would go on a serving run to take the Hawks to 18-10. The hawks finished the third set 25-16.
Freshman, Molly Quilty would lead the Hawks with 8 kills hitting .667. Junior Katie Thieret had six kills hitting .235 and sophomore, Meghan Smith hit .143 for night. Senior, Nicole Weber had 25 assists to go along with 7 digs. Sophomore, Maria Bates led the team with 11 digs.
