Men's Soccer stopped by Wheaton

Box Score NORTON, Mass. - Wheaton College clutched their seventh straight win with a 1-0 win over the Roger Williams University Hawks, defeating them 1-0 as the Lyons Wheaton advances to 7-2 overall.
 
The Lyons put forth good defense in the first half, only allowing one shot from the Hawks.
 
Noah Kossoff started things off for Wheaton putting up a shot just three minutes in to get the momentum going. It was in the 12th minute when Amara Sesay found Michael Williams who knocked in the lone goal of the game on the right side of the net, making it 1-0.
 
In the second half, Roger Williams upped their offense, offering more shots, but Wheaton's defense was there to hold them off. RWU's James Sheldon (Amherst, N.H.) and Sean Janson (Avon, Conn.) each had a shot in the 54th minute blocked by Lyon defenders.
 
Williams, Curran Wait and Pat O'Rourke offered a few more shots for the Lyons, but it was goalkeeper Matt Dickey (3-2) who got the win, collecting three saves.
 
Wheaton outshot Roger Williams 17-11.
 
The Lyons travel on Saturday to WPI for a conference matchup as they look for their eighth straight victory. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
