Box Score NEWPORT, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team defeated Salve Regina University, 60-47, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Rodgers Recreation Center.

Mariah Nicholas (Acushnet, Mass.) scored a game-high 15 points on six of 10 from the floor and three of five from the line. Junior
Katie Lowerre (Sharon, Mass.) added a dozen points and grabbed six rebounds.
Salve Regina junior Jillian Woodward (Orono, Maine) started and contributed 13 points to lead the Seahawks; made seven of nine free throws.
After closing the first quarter with a four-point lead (12-8), Roger Williams outscored Salve Regina 12-3 at the outset of the second quarter.
Angelica Ariola (Prospect, Conn.) converted an old-fashioned three-point play to put the visitors up by 13 (24-11) with 4:03 remaining in the first half.
Roger Williams converted Salve Regina turnovers (27) into 29 points.
Salve Regina leads the all-time series, 48-15, but seven of the 15 wins for Roger Williams have come since 2012. The teams have split the season series for the second time in last three years.
Roger Williams (11-7, 8-3 CCC) hosts Western New England next on Saturday.
