Box Score QUINCY, Mass. - The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Roger Williams Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Homecoming weekend.
The Lions progress to 5-8-2 on the year and 1-5-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the loss. The Hawks improve to 4-11-1 overall and 2-3-1 in conference action with the win.
The visitors got on the board in the 10th minute to grab an early 1-0 advantage.
Dan Kelly pounced on a loose ball inside the six-yard box to bag his first goal of the season.
Roger Williams widened its lead to 2-0 in the 14th minute of play as
Lucas Watt floated a long-distance effort into the back of the cage for his first tally of the fall while
Ryan Burrill provided the assist.
The Hawks pushed the gap to 3-0 in the 22nd minute.
Trevor Sparda picked up his first marker of the year as he spun a shot inside the right post after
Sean Janson setup the strike with a pass into the penalty area.
Eastern Nazarene fired three shots in the first frame while Roger Williams registered 10.
The home side had a chance to cut into the deficit in the 78th minute but Hawks' goalkeeper Edmund Gerschickter saved a penalty kick attempt by Ian Carson (San Antonio, Texas).
The guests tacked on their fourth score of the game in the 89th minute.
Kabine Conde converted a penalty kick to notch his first goal of the year.
The Lions concluded the contest with 12 shots after outshooting the Hawks 9-6 in the second stanza.
Andrew Nelson (Burtonsville, Md.) attempted a team-high five shots while Carson recorded four.
Jameson MacFarland (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Victor Mendoza (Cathedral, Calif.) both saw action between the pipes for Eastern Nazarene, finishing with a pair of saves each on the day.
