Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team was downed by a 61-46 margin Tuesday evening in the team's 2016-17 opener.
 
Anna Walther (Northampton, Mass.) led the way for RWU with 11 points in the game. Katie Lowerre (Sharon, Mass.) added nine points, three rebounds, and two assists. Gabby Jerahian (Quincy, Mass.) added six points and a board off the bench.
 
Rebounding and turnovers favored Brandeis in the game, as the Judges collected 42 boards to only 30 for Roger Williams. In addition, the Hawks committed 23 giveaways in the game, leading to 25 points for Brandeis.
 
Brandeis jumped out to an early 13-4 lead and never looked back the rest of the way. The Hawks managed to pull within two with just over three minutes left in the second quarter (26-28). However, the Judges went on a 16-3 run spanning the end of the period and the first three minutes of the third quarter to stretch the lead to 15.
 
Roger Williams will be at UMass-Dartmouth next Tuesday.
