Box Score 2 Auburndale, FL.- The Roger Williams University baseball team split it's double header against Iowa Wesleyan on Monday, March 7
th. The Hawks won the first game 10-2, but fell short the second game, losing 6-20. The Hawks are now 2-4 overall continuing their spring break trip.
Junior,
Jimmy Hamiliton received the win for the Hawks in the first game against the Tigers. Jimmy allowed six hits and two runs for the game.
The hawks were off to a great start in the first inning.
Liam Smith (Ridgefield, CT.) tripled , 3 RBI. The hawks earned four runs in the first inning with
Shawn Cariglio (Milford, CT),
Matt Moskal (Hamden, CT),
Jamie Timothy (Cohasset, MA) and
Liam Smith (Ridgefield, CT) all scoring.
In the third inning
Shawn Cariglio (Milford, CT) homered, RBI giving the hawks five runs.
In the fourth inning
Matt Moskal (Hamden, CT) advanced to second on a passed ball,
Jimmy Goober (Burlington, MA) then advanced to third and
Eli Camner (Hamden, CT) Â scored. Â
Shawn Cariglio (Milford, CT) singled 2 RBI advancing Baker to second.
Matt Moskal (Hamden, CT) went on to score as well as Â
Jimmy Goober (Burlington, MA).
Liam Smith (Ridgefield, MA) Â grounded out to first base scoring Baker.
In the second game the Hawks were defeated by the Tigers  20-6.
Kaelan Rayner  (Westerly, RI) received his second loss of the season going 0-2 on the mound.
Shane Nowak (Litchfield, N.H.) scored the first run for the hawks in the second inning from a single by
Liam Smith. Also, in the second inning
Jamie Timothy (Cohasset, MA) doubled, 2 RBI, scoring
Jimmy Goober (Burlington, MA) and
Liam Smith (Ridgefield, CT).
The Hawks had fourteen total hits and twenty runs in the second game against the Tigers.
The Hawks take the field again, Wednesday, March 9
th at 1PM taking on Montclair State in a double header.Â
