Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball team ended the MIT Invitational with a 2-3 loss to Bowdoin College before earning a 3-1 win over Bates College.
 
The Hawks came out with a 1-0 lead in the first set of the opening match, battling to a 27-25 win. Bowdoin would take the second set by a 25-18 score to tie the match at one apiece. RWU regained the upper hand in the third set, logging a 26-24 win. However, the Polar Bears would send the match to a deciding fifth set with another 25-18 win. In the final set, Bowdoin held off RWU with a 15-15 win to take the match.
 
Molly Quilty (Duxbury, Mass.) led RWU with 18 kills in the match. Kristen Boyer added 12 kills and five digs, while Abby Gordon finished with ten digs and three service aces. Juila Fields (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) handed out 38 assists.
 
The second match of the match against Bates began similar to the Bowdoin match, with Roger Williams earning a hard-fought 27-25 win in the first set. The Hawks would come back with another win in the second set, taking down Bates 25-20. The final set saw RWU roll to the win with a 25-18 victory.
 
Boyer led RWU with nine kills, with Quilty adding six kills and five blocks (one solo, four assists). Emiley Melillo (Seattle, Wash.) finished with 34 assists.
