Box Score AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Roger Williams University Baseball team cranked out 12 runs in a 12-2 rout of Daniel Webster College Monday afternoon.
RWU pounded out 16 hits over the course of the game, with each RWU starter recording at least one hit.
The Hawks jumped out to the lead in the second inning, as the team brought five runners home in the frame. Daniel Webster came back with two runs in the top of the third, but that would be the only runs scored for the Eagles in the game.
RWU added one run each in the fourth and fifth innings before scoring three runs in the sixth for a 10-2 advantage. Roger Williams would tack on two more runs in the bottom of the eighth to cruise to the ten-run win.
Danny Roth (West Hartford, Conn.) finished 4-for-5 on the day with two runs scored and two RBI.
Anthony Dominguez (Chester, N.J.) was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run, while
Sean Gaffney (Simsbury, Conn.) went 3-for-5 with a run and two RBI.
Michael Farrell (Bellingham, Mass.) earned the win, pitching four scoreless innings with four strikeouts.
