Box Score Winter Haven, FL- The Roger Williams University baseball team couldn't seem to hold off the Flying Dutch of Hope College in a 13-7 loss on Friday.
The Hawks were off to a strong start in the first inning when
Chris Bosco (North Andover, MA) singled to left corner with an RBI for
Joey Gulino (Meriden, CT) to score.
Eli Camner (Hamden, CT) then singled to center field with an RBI, Terizan advanced to third and Bosco scored. The Flying Dutch had two runs in the bottom of the first with a double to left field and a reach error by the Hawks.
In the second inning Bosco singled to left field with two RBIs for Stone and
Tyler Rondeau (Bourne, MA) to score. Stone flied out to left field for Camner to score in the third inning to put the Hawks up 5-3. The Flying Dutch had a home run to score to tie the game 5-5.
The Flying Dutch went on a run in the 6
th inning scoring 6 runs to go up 5-11. Terizan scored the final run for the Hawks with a home the eighth inning run in.
The Hawks will face the Dutch again Saturday afternoon, March 8
th at 12PM for their final game of their Spring Break trip in Florida.
