WENHAM, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Field Hockey team collected a 2-0 shutout over Gordon College Tuesday afternoon.
 
With the win, the Hawks move to .500 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference and now sit in third place in the conference.
 
Both teams battled back and forth throughout the first half. It appeared that the game would go into halftime with both teams scoreless. However, the Hawks managed to come through with the go-ahead goal with just 22 seconds left in the first period. Hannah Palmer (Essex Junction, Vt.) sent a pass to Brooklyn Cenatiempo (Trumbull, Conn.) who converted the shot for her seventh goal of the year. RWU would go into the break holding on to a one-goal lead.
 
The Hawks preserved their advantage until the 55^th minute, when RWU was able to add on to the lead. Callie Chase (Contoocook, N.H.) found Taylor Powell (Windham, N.H.) for a score to put RWU up by two. The Hawks would hold Gordon to only two more shots on goal over the rest of the game to hold on for the win.
 
Callie Flanagan (Wenham, Mass.) earned her second shutout of the season, making four saves for RWU.
 
Roger Williams (6-5, 3-3 CCC) hosts Lasell College on Thursday.
