WENHAM, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Field Hockey team set a new single-season wins record with a 3-2 victory over Gordon College Saturday afternoon. The Hawks collected their ninth win of the year, breaking the previous mark of eight set back in 2015.

How It Happened
Gordon wasted little time scoring, getting the first goal of the game 1:23 into the contest. Cara Goudie notched her 11 score of the year for a quick 1-0 Fighting Scot lead. Gordon maintained the lead the rest of the quarter and for most of the second.
Hannah Palmer was able to tie the game for the Hawks with 19 seconds left to halftime.
In the third quarter,
Brooklyn Cenatiempo notched a score for RWU eight minutes into the period to give RWU a one-goal lead. However, Natalie Adamez answered for the Fighting Scots two minutes later, tying the game up at two.
Neither side was able to score the rest of the quarter. Roger Williams broke through late in the fourth quarter, with
Emma Stevens (Brewster, Mass.) finding
Alex Coppinger for the game-winning goal with just under four minutes left in the game.
