Field Hockey Drops Close One To UNE In 2OT

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Roger Williams University Field Hockey took the University of New England to double overtime but was unable to come away with the win, as the Nor'Easters edged RWU 2-1.

How It Happened
UNE got out to an early lead over Roger Williams, with Alexa Koenig scoring for the Nor'Easters 1:38 into the game. UNE's lead lasted through the quarter until Brooklyn Cenatiempo took an assist from Hannah Palmer to tie the game at 1-0 with over four minutes to play in the first.
 
From there, both teams defenses went to work, with the Nor'Easters held Roger Williams to only two shots to regulation. On the other side, the Hawks held UNE without a shot in the fourth quarter and Callie Flanagan stopped eight shots from the second through the fourth quarter.
 
After a scoreless OT period, UNE was able to break through with the game winner in the second overtime. Julia Steeves converted a pass form Reanna Bouley to claim the game for the Nor'Easters two minutes into the period.
