AMHERST, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball team lost a pair of matches by 0-3 scores to Wellesley College and Amherst College Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
In the first match of the day against Wellesley, the Big Blue began the opening set with a 25-17 victory over RWU. Wellesley broke away late, using a 10-3 run with the game tied at 13. IN the second set, Wellesley opened the game on a 14-4 run and eventually claimed a 25-17 win. The third set saw RWU fall behind late, as Wellesley turned a 9-9 game into a 20-12 advantage. They would go on to win 25-13 and take the match.
Match two saw the Hawks take on Amherst. The Mammoths began the first set on a 6-1 run and lead the rest of the way. RWU mounted a late comeback to pull within four, but the Mammoths would take the game 25-20. Amherst used another early run in the second set to gain some breathing room over RWU, beginning the set with seven straight points. RWU would ultimately fall 12-25 and go behind 0-2. The third set was much closer, with seven ties and three lead changes. However the tide would turn in Amherst's favor halfway through, breaking a 10-all tie with a 9-4 run. The Mammoths would close out the set with six straight point to take the set 25-14 and the match.
