How It Happened
The Gulls took a 1-0 lead with just under three minutes left in the first quarter, when Kristen McCarthy put back in a shot off her own deflection for the lead. Endicott's defensive pressure would hold RWU to only one shot in the first half. However, Roger Williams would play stout defense as well, with Endicott not able to get a shot off in the second quarter. Despite both teams' efforts, the score still remained 1-0 going into halftime.
In the third quarter, the Hawks were able to get on the board two minutes into the half, with
Hannah Palmer scoring for RWU to tie the game at one. However, Jaylin Grabau connected with Addi Williams in the final minute to regain the lead for Endicott.
Shortly into the fourth quarter, Williams added an insurance goal from Grabau to bring Endicott's lead to two. The Hawks were only and to get one shot off in the fourth as Endicott held on for the win.
