BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Basketball team won the RWU/Courtyard By Marriott Tip-Off Tournament Saturday afternoon with a 79-58 win over Bowdoin College.

How It Happened
David Reynolds knocked down a three to kick off the game for Bowdoin. RWU would come back, and take the lead on a
Rich Pugliese three. Later with the score tied at seven, Roger Williams used a 14-3 run to take an 11-point lead. Later, a four-point play by
Eli Harris (Falmouth, Mass.) gave RWU its largest lead, a 17-point advantage with just under six minutes left in the half. (31-14). The Hawks would eventually take a 44-30 lead into halftime.
The Hawks led by double-digits the entire second half, going up by as many as 28 (75-47). RWU had the hot hand from downtown all-game, going 11-for-20 in the first half and finishing the game with 17 treys while shooting 48.6 percent from behind the arc.
In the earlier consolation game, Elms rolled to a 96-64 win over Framingham State to take third place. Elms' D.J. Edelen (Prince George, Va.) scored 15 points with three rebounds to be named to the all-tournament team. For Framingham State, Tyri Hampton (Fitchburg, Mass.) finished with a double-double, going for 12 points and 11 boards and also being selected to the all-tournament team.
