How It Happened
Connecticut College scored on their opening basket, followed by a
Rich Pugliese layup. The Camels came back with another layup of their own. From there, Connecticut College would hold on to the lead for most of the first half. The Camels build up the advantage to eight (18-26) late in the period. However, Roger Williams was able to climb their way back in the game, ending the half on an 11-4 run to pull within one going into the break (29-30).
Eli Harris scored on the Hawks' opening possession to take the lead by one. That basket would kick of a 9-0 run for RWU. Connecticut College managed to make it a 38-35 game four minutes into the half, but six straight points for RWU build the lead back up to nine.
Roger Williams would take a ten-point lead halfway through the period before the Camels cut it back to four with 8:02 to play. That would be as close as Connecticut College would come the rest of the way. RWU made it a nine-point game with four minutes left en route to the 15-point win.
