BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Cross Country team won its first Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship since 2010 Saturday afternoon, besting runner-up University of New England by one point.
Sarah Mawdsley (Sandy Hook, Conn.) won the race, being named CCC Runner of the Year after winning the race in 22:31.50.
Grace DePalma (Oak Ridge, N.J.) was selected to the All-CCC Team with her fourth-place finish in 23:25.18. Also earning all-conference honors were
Hannah Kaplan (Lebanon, Conn.), placing sixth in 23:28.87 and
Siobhan Mitchell (West Newbury, Mass.), coming in 12
th in 23:47.41.
Amanda Naylor (Glastonbury, Conn.) placed 17
th for RWU in 24:22.29 to wrap up RWU's scoring.
Leah Whearty (Walpole, Mass.) also earned 22
nd place in 25:02.36 while
Emmaline Mason (Swanzey, N.H.) was 31
st in 25:26.88.
