Women's Cross Country: Hawks Finish 11th at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

Sitzer and Maluk lead RWU in Navy Race, as Hawks place 11th out of 16 teams

DARTMOUTH, Mass. — The Roger Williams University women's cross country team competed Saturday at the 53rd UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational, placing 11th out of 16 teams in the Navy Race at the Coach Robert Dowd Course. The Hawks totaled 312 points with a team average of 26:40.08.

Sitzer and Maluk Pace the Hawks

Gabriella Sitzer (Slingerlands, N.Y.) and Taylor Maluk (Newport, R.I.) paced the Hawks across the 6K course, finishing back-to-back in 52nd and 53rd, respectively. Sitzer crossed the finish line in 25:10.41 for 43 team points, while Maluk followed at 25:10.47 with 44 points.

Maddy Koon (Albany, N.Y.) was next for RWU, placing 81st in 26:05.01 to contribute 65 points. Alexandra Biryukov (Oceanside, N.Y.) followed in 110th at 27:27.26 for 74 points.

Giselle Haun (Meriden, Conn.) rounded out the Hawks' five scoring runners, finishing 145th in 29:27.24 for 86 points. RWU's five scorers combined for 312 points, placing the Hawks 11th overall.

Hawks Complete Team Scoring

Bree Killion (Rochester, Mass.) finished 160th in 30:56.06, while Tiffany Blanco (Warwick, R.I.) placed 163rd in 31:44.72 to round out the RWU contingent.
