Volleyball Falls In CCC Championship

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball team suffered a 0-3 loss to top-seeded Endicott College Saturday afternoon in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship.

How It Happened
The Hawks fell behind 5-10 in the opening set before pulling back within two to make it a 17-19 game. RWU kept it close, keeping the score within two to four points. However, Endicott maintained the lead and closed out the set with a 21-25 win.
 
Endicott scored five of the first seven points to begin set two. The Hawks made it a 6-8 game to make a comeback, but the Gulls used an 11-4 run to up by seven. Endicott would extend the lead to nine before claiming the set by a 25-18 score.
 
The Hawks kept the match close in the third set early on. However, an 8-1 run turned a 3-4 deficit for RWU into a 12-4 lead for Endicott. RWU's offense staled as the Gulls would extend the lead to 15. Endicott would ultimately claim the set and the championship by a 25-12 margin.
