NEWPORT, R.I.—The Roger Williams Men's Tennis team was victorious against Regis College 7-2 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame today.
During doubles play, RWU's No. 2's
Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) /
Miles Conlin (Branford, Conn.) fought hard for a 8-5 victory while No. 3 duo
Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) and
Tyler Cain (Montpelier, Vt.) defeated their opponents 8-3.
Going into singles play, the score was 2-1 Roger Williams. No. 1
Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) matched up against Sebastian Torres (San Juan, Puerto Rico) from Regis which resulted in a 6-0, 6-4 win for the Hawks.
Jared Deibe (Oakland, N.J.) who is currently No. 2 for RWU also beat opponent Nolan Bebarta (Danville, Calif.) 6-3, 6-3. Numbers 4, 5, 6, and 7 also came out strong in their season opener defeating all of their respective opponents. The winners included Spoor (7-5, 7-5), Matt Feldman (Duxbury, Mass.) (6-2, 6-1), Cain (6-4, 6-7), and Conlin (5-7, 10-2).

Barry Gorman states, "Today was a great start for our guys. We played with intensity and pulled out some close matches. We are looking forward to playing Stonehill next."
