SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Hawks took all three Commonwealth Coast Conference Baseball weekly honors as junior second baseman
Danny Roth (West Hartford, Conn.) was named CCC Player of the Week while freshman righthander
Kyle Schaefer (Madison, Conn.) was selected as CCC Pitcher and Rookie of the Week.
Roth batted safely in every game as the Hawks posted a 4-0 weekly record. Roth batted .429 (6-for-14) with one double, one home run, one RBI, one stolen base, and five runs scored. His top performances included a two-hit showing in an 8-4 win at Johnson & Wales and a three-hit effort in a doubleheader sweep of CCC rival Endicott. Roth doubled in the first game and homered in the nightcap. Defensively, Roth handled 20 chances in the field without an error.
Schaefer was brilliant in the Hawks' 7-0 non-conference victory over Wesleyan. Schaefer logged his first career shutout, scattering two hits over nine innings of work. He struck out seven and walked three. Roth did not allow a hit until the fifth inning.
