SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Field Hockey team were held off 2-4 by Mount Holyoke College Saturday afternoon in the team's first contest of the 2019 season.

How It Happened
After a scoreless first quarter, Laurissa Montigny put the Lyons on the board with a goal with just under six minutes left in the second quarter. Mount Holyoke would take a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
The Lyons would then jump out to a 3-0 lead early in the third quarter, as Kass Lawrence and Mirei Golding-Powers both scored in the first four minutes of the period.
Alex Coppinger would put the Hawks on the board with a goal with 5:34 left in the quarter. However, Golding-Powers scored again less than a minute later to put Mount Holyoke up by three.
Morgan Turner turned away the first four shots on goal by Roger Williams in the fourth quarter before
Carly Doulette scored with under two minutes to play. However, RWU couldn't add more before time expired.
