How It Happened
Hannah Palmer got things started quickly for the Hawks, taking an assist from
Erin Magsamen (Bridgewater, N.J.) to score three minutes into the game. The Hawks' lead would be short-lived, as Lizz McKinnon tied things up for Nichols two minutes later.
After a scoreless second quarter,
Carly Doulette (Bridgewater, Mass.) would break the tie with her fifth goal of the year at the 33:12 mark. Palmer would add another goal five minutes later to bring the Hawks' lead to two.
RWU would hold Nichols off for most of the final quarter until McKinnon brought the Bison within one with 30 seconds remaining in the game. That would be all RWU would all as the Hawks came away with the win.
