BOSTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University avenged their loss to Wentworth Institute of Technology in the 2018 CCC Championship with a 3-2 victory over the Leopards Wednesday evening.

How It Happened
Roger Williams opened the match with a 25-21 win over Wentworth Institute of Technology for a quick 1-0. In the second set, both sides battled back and forth early before RWU pulled away halfway through the game. The Hawks broke a 10-10 tie with a 9-2 run for a 19-12 lead. The Leopards made a comeback late, pulling within two (22-24), but a kill by Maddie Neuberger gave RWU the 25-22 win for a 2-0 lead.
 
Wentworth rolled to the win in the third set, turning a 3-4 deficit into a commanding 19-7 lead. The Leopards would ultimately take the set 25-9. In the fourth set, Roger Williams went up early, taking an 8-2 lead. The Hawks looked poised to take the set but Wentworth Institute of Technology climbed back, tying the set at 21 apiece. Wentworth would tie things up at two with the 25-23 win.
 
The fifth and deciding set started off similar to the fourth, with Roger Williams going up 8-2. Wentworth came back within three (10-13), but a kill by Lara LoIacono and a service ace by Neuberger gave RWU the victory.
