BEVERLY, Mass. – A late goal gave Endicott College a 2-1 win over the Roger Williams University Field Hockey team Saturday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest.

How It Happened
Roger Williams braved a ferocious offensive attack from Endicott throughout the game, as the Gulls outshot RWU 43-4 in the contest. Despite the discrepancy, the game still would not be decided until the closing minutes.

Neither side was able to score until the final seconds of the first half, as Jaylin Grabeau put Endicott on the board with just three seconds left to halftime. In the third quarter, the Hawks came right back to tie it up, with Alex Coppinger notching a goal in the opening minute to tie the game at one apiece.

A pair of defensive saves by Taylor Woodbury in the third and fourth quarters kept the game knotted. The turning point came with just under four minutes left in the game, when Sydney Poulin scored off of a penalty corner to regain the lead for Endicott. That would turn out to be the game winner for Endicott, as EC escaped with the win.
