Clark Cougars Overcome Hawks in Men's Soccer

WORCESTER, Mass.—Clark University overcame the Roger Williams University Men's Soccer team 3-0 in their game Sunday afternoon.

Hawk Highlights
  • The Hawks created many chances by putting some great shots up in the box.
  • Goalkeeper John Padavano (Flemington, N.J.) made his way into the game for the first time in his collegiate career during the second half and made a couple of saves.
For the Opponents
  • Sean Munroe (Silver Spring, Md.) and Ezekiel Palmer (Vergennes, Vt.) put the ball in the net for the Cougars and a team goal was also recorded to create a 3-0 victory.
  • Palmer and Sam Hartley (Sherborn, Mass.) received two assists in the book for Clark as well.

How It Happened
In the first half, Senior Trevor Sheridan (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) took a throw in that landed in a scramble in front of the net. In the scramble, the ball got past goalie Edmund Geschickter (Brookline, Mass.) and resulted in the first goal for the Cougars. Despite Hawk's many efforts to attack offensively, the Cougars scored their second goal in the 19th minute of the game. One more goal was scored by Munroe late in the first half and no other goals were recorded for the rest of the game.

What's Next
The Hawks (1-2-1) take on MIT on September 11th at 7:00 p.m. and Clark (3-1) moves on to Framingham State University at 4:30 p.m.
