How It Happened
The opening quarter started out light on scoring, with Springfield notching the first basket a minute and a half into the game, while the Hawks' first points came nearly three minutes in. Neither side led by more than two in the period, with Springfield holding on to a slim 10-8 lead after the first.

The second period saw the game remain tight, with the Pride holding a four-point lead two minutes in that would prove to be the largest lead of the half. Springfield would ultimately go into halftime up by three. In the third, Springfield extended the advantage to six before Roger Williams tied things up at 33, followed by a three-pointer by Gabby Jerahian (Quincy, Mass.) to put RWU up by three. RWU's lead would be short-lived, as the Pride came back to tie the game up, with the score knotted at 41 entering the fourth.

Springfield held the lead late in the fourth, but a three-point play by Sam Leone with 11 seconds remaining helped tie the game at 55 and send the game to overtime. In the extra period, the Pride scored the first basket and held the lead from the rest of the period. Leone was unable to knock down the game-tying three to send the game to double OT, allowing Springfield to escape with the win.
