Women’s Basketball Rolls To Win Over Curry

MILTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team completed the season sweep over Curry College with a 66-45 win over the Colonels Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
After a scoreless two minutes over the beginning of the game, Curry scored first with Kathryn Dunn laying in a basket. The Hawks would come back with back-to-back baskets by Karli Opalka and Gabby Jerahian. From there, RWU would hold on to the lead the rest of the quarter, taking a 16-12 lead going into the fourth.
 
In the second, Curry climbed back into the game and pulled within one (21-20). However, the Hawks built the lead up to nine with three minutes to go in the half and eventually went into halftime with a 32-26 lead.
 
Roger Williams would blow the game out in the third quarter. The Hawks outscored Curry 21-5 in the period while shooting 75.0 percent from the floor. RWU's defense held the Colonels to only 2-for-17 shooting in the quarter and led by 22 going into the fourth. RWU's advantage never dipped below 20 in the final quarter as RWU took the win.
