How It Happened
The Hawks fell behind early and had a tough time catching up. Gordon began the contest on a 10-0 run, with RWU not scoring for the first four minutes of play. Roger Williams managed to pull within five but Gordon came back with five straight points to go back up by ten (17-7).
The Hawks continued to claw away at the deficit, with
Eli Harris knocking down a three to make it a one-point game with just under two minutes left in the first half (36-37). Yet Gordon scored the final six points of the period for a seven-point lead going into halftime.
Early in the second half, RWU once again pulled with two (45-47). Unfortunately for RWU, the Fighting Scots used a 14-0 run over a five-minute stretch to take a commanding 16-point lead with 12 minutes to play. The Hawks were unable to come closer than nine the rest of the way.
