Women’s Basketball Win Streak Halted By Gordon

WENHAM, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team had its five-game winning streak snapped Tuesday evening as Gordon College edged the Hawks 58-56.

How It Happened
Gordon trailed by as many as 16 in the game to Roger Williams. The Fighting Scots utilized a 25-point fourth quarter to come back over the Hawks.
 
The game started off close, with both teams trading baskets in the opening quarter. Gordon held a slim 14-13 lead after the first period. In the second, Roger Williams was able to hold the Fighting Scots to only four points in the period, as Gordon went 2-for-15 from the field. RWU was able to go into halftime with a 29-18 lead.
 
In the third, Kendi Barnard gave RWU its largest lead with a layup to make it 40-24 with four minutes left in the quarter. RWU would go into the fourth leading 48-33. However in the fourth, Gordon used a 12-0 run to pull within two (50-52). Then Meghan Foley gave Gordon the 55-54 lead with a three-pointer with three minutes to go.
 
Gordon would hold on to the lead the rest of the way. Barnard had a chance to win the game for RWU on the final possession, but the shot did not fall and Gordon picked up the win.
