Connecticut College Bests Men’s Lacrosse

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Men's Lacrosse team dropped a 12-18 decision to Connecticut College Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

How It Happened
The Hawks found themselves in a hole after a strong first quarter for Connecticut College. The Camels jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first seven minutes of play and scored the final three goals of the opening quarter to take a 7-3 lead.
 
The Camels continued to put the pressure on the Hawks early in the second. Connecticut College added three more goals over the first four minutes to go up 10-3. Roger Williams would continue to fight back, putting in the final three goals of the half to pull within four entering the third quarter.
 
In the third, Ryan Phillips (Hanover, Mass.) and Jude Marzec both scored within a minute of one another to bring RWU back within two. Connecticut College would score two of the final three goals to make it a 12-9 game going into the fourth.
 
RWU fought hard in the final period, pulling within two early in the fourth. However, RWU was unable to notch the go-ahead goal, as Connecticut College kept RWU at arm's reach. Up 15-12 with 6:04 to play, the Camels put the game away with three unanswered goals in the final five minutes.
