How It Happened
After a scoreless first quarter, Wesleyan struck in the second quarter for the game's opening score. Diana Schwarz knocked in a backhanded goal off of a rebounded shot three minutes into the period for a 1-0 Wesleyan lead.
The Cardinals' one-goal advantage lasted the remainder of the half.
Morgan Foley (Hanover, Mass.) got the Hawks on the board shortly into in the third quarter, notching a goal in transition to tie the game at one apiece.
Wesleyan would regain the lead late in the third, with Melanie Lim and Helen Deretchin putting in a pair of goals a minute apart in the closing minutes of the period to take a 3-1 lead going into the fourth.
Schwarz would add one more goal in the fourth to help ease Wesleyan to the win.
