How It Happened
The early part of the first quarter was scoreless until MIT broke through with the first goal of the game in the 11th minute. Paige Forester scored off of a penalty corner to give the Engineers the lead. Liberty Ladd added another score less than a minute later, scoring off a pass in front of the goal.

The Hawks were able to get on the scoreboard shortly after, with Amelia Monahan (Bristol, N.H.) assisting Morgan Foley (Hanover, Mass.) on a score after an MIT turnover. Trailing 2-1 after the first quarter, the Hawks would tie the game in the second, with Ella Waryas (Foxboro, Mass.) finding Hannah Palmer (Essex Junction, Vt.) for the game-tying score. Roger Williams was able to gain the lead shortly before halftime, with Monahan finding the back of the goal with just under two minutes left in the quarter to put RWU up 3-2.

In the third, Eva Oppenheim regained the lead for MIT with a goal off of a penalty corner nine minutes in. Yet the Hawks would not be deterred, as Foley logged her second goal of the game on a loose ball in front of the goal with a minute left in the quarter. MIT came right back with a score by Ladd with 32 seconds left to tie the game at four-all entering the final period.

Unfortunately for the Hawks, the fourth quarter belonged to MIT, with the Engineers logging three unanswered goals in the period. Ladd put MIT back on top for good with seven minutes left to play, while Forester and Oppenheim both scored in the final three minutes to punctuate the game for the Engineers.
