RWU held the lead the rest of the way, going up by as many as nine. Back-to-back service aces by Olivia Turcotte (South Kingstown, R.I.) put RWU up 20-11 en route to the 25-18 win.

In the second set, the Golden Bears kept the match close with Roger Williams. Neither side led by more than two points in the early part of the set. Things turned around in Western New England's favor with a 5-0 run turning a two-point deficit into a three-point lead. The Golden Bears went up 14-11 before Katherine Pickard (St. Petersburg, Fla.) helped power a 5-0 run for RWU with three kills over the stretch.
