BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball team logged a 3-0 victory over Western New England University Saturday afternoon on Senior Day in the team's final home match of the regular season.

How It Happened
Western New England held a brief 4-2 lead to begin the game. At that point,
Kristen Dansereau (Killingworth, Conn.) and
Allie Welch (Marlborough, Conn.) both scored a pair of points to help spark a 6-1 run to put the Hawks up 9-5. RWU held the lead the rest of the way, going up by as many as nine. Back-to-back service aces by
Olivia Turcotte (South Kingstown, R.I.) put RWU up 20-11 en route to the 25-18 win.
In the second set, the Golden Bears kept the match close with Roger Williams. Neither side led by more than two points in the early part of the set. Things turned around in Western New England's favor with a 5-0 run turning a two-point deficit into a three-point lead. The Golden Bears went up 14-11 before
Katherine Pickard (St. Petersburg, Fla.) helped power a 5-0 run for RWU with three kills over the stretch. RWU would end the set on a 9-0 run to take the 25-15 win and go up 2-0.
The Golden Bears scored three of the first four points of the third set. Roger Williams would respond with a 7-1 run to go up by four (8-4). A solo block by
Jasmine Babbitt (Charlestown, R.I.) gave the Hawks a 10-5 lead and forced a Golden Bear timeout. The Hawks continued to put the pressure on WNE, going up 17-11 and forcing Western New England into another timeout. The Hawks kept the match in check the rest of the way, with a WNE attack error giving RWU the 25-16 win.
