BEVERLY, Mass. — The Roger Williams Women's Tennis team had its bid for its first CCC Championship since 2007 halted by top-seeded Endicott College Saturday afternoon, as the Gulls defeated the Hawks 5-0 in the CCC title match.

Endicott began the match by taking all three doubles matches. Gianna Ferraro (Westerly, R.I.) and Olivia Santoro (Cheshire, Conn.) fell 8-1 at #2 doubles against Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) and Fernanda Trevino (Dallas, Texas), while Gracie McCarthy (Marion, Mass.) and Kate Hardy (Southington, Conn.) dropped their #3 doubles match against Ashley Keaveney (Exeter, N.H.) and Shelby Henry (Lincoln, Neb.) by the same score. At #1,
Emma Place (Francestown, N.H.) and Alessia Cahoon (Dedham, Mass.) kept things close but fell 8-6 to Ripley Uyeda (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) and Lejla Guster (Wethersfield, Conn.).
 
At singles, Olivia Berler (Marstons Mills, Mass.) brought Endicott within one point of the match with her 6-0, 6-0 win against Santoro at #6. Guster would clinch the championship for the Gulls with her 6-1, 6-2 against Cahoon at #2.
