BRISTOL, R.I. — The Roger Williams Women's Tennis team collected its fifth straight victory and fifth straight shutout win Saturday afternoon, defeating Salve Regina University 9-0.

The Hawks took #1 and #2 doubles by identical 8-2 scores to start off.
Alessia Cahoon (Dedham, Mass.) and
Emma Place (Francestown, N.H.) downed Sailor Nordstrom (New Bedford, Mass.) and Alexa Stevens (Portsmouth, N.H.) at #1 while
Gianna Ferraro (Westerly, R.I.) and
Olivia Santoro (Cheshire, Conn.) won at #2 over Casey Farrell (Cumberland, R.I.) and Annemarie Haas (Whitinsville, Mass.). At #3,
Kate Hardy (Southington, Conn.) and
Gracie McCarthy (Marion, Mass.) set down Graysen Scherer (Mystic, Conn.) and Ellysa Tancrede (Chepachet, R.I.).
At singles play, Cahoon and Ferraro both logged 6-2, 6-1 wins at #2 and #3, respectively, over Stevens and Farrell.
Alexa DiCesare (Norwood, Mass.) toughed out a 6-2, 7-5 win over Haas at #4, while McCarthy cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #5. Wrapping up the Hawks' victory was Place at #1, downing Nordstrom 6-2, 6-3, and Santoro at #6, winning 6-1, 6-1 against Tancrede.
