How It Happened
While the Hawks did not have a fantastic night shooting the ball, but they made up for it by taking care of business in other ways, dominating Suffolk on the glass while capitalizing on second chance points and turnovers.

Both teams started off cold offensively, with the score being only 4-2 through the first four and a half minutes, despite the slow start shooting the ball, the Hawks did clean up the glass throughout the frame, grabbing 12 boards, seven of which were in the offensive end. After a Sam Mancinelli (Peabody, Mass.) trip to the line, the scoring opened up as the Hawks then outscored Suffolk 12-8 to close out the quarter.

The Hawks came out of the quarter break firing, with Mancinelli and Nikki Rosa (Nahant, Mass.), draining back-to-back threes to give the Hawks a 12-point lead. A steal by Hannah Driscoll (Hampton, N.H.) at mid-court helped the Hawks fight off a deep three by Gabriella DeComo (Portsmouth, R.I.), and give the squad back their double digit lead. The Hawks closed out the first half strong, outscoring the Rams 19-9 in the second, while shooting 50%, and 57% from beyond the arc in the quarter. On the defensive end, the home team grabbed nine more rebounds, and three steals.

Roger Williams maintained their rebounding dominance out of halftime, led by Kendi Barnard (Bedford, N.H.) who had three rebounds in the first five minutes. On the offensive end, Sam Mancinelli continued to lead the way for the Hawks adding on seven more points. The Rams stormed back though, outscoring the Hawks 19-13 in the quarter, including a 16-8 run following a three-pointer from Natalie Fraioli (Sutton, Mass.) with five minutes left in the quarter.

The Hawks opened up the final quarter going on a 6-0 run led by Katie Galligan (Pembroke Mass.) who scored four of the team's six points during the stretch. The Roger Williams team finished off the game with no less than nine rebounds in a single quarter after snagging 12 in the fourth frame bringing the teams game total up to 47. The Hawks closed out the game with Mancinelli leading the way on offense scoring 20 points. Those 20 points are the most in a game for Mancinelli since a 23 point performance against Mitchell College on November 17th, 2018. On the defensive end, Karli Opalka (Southbury, Conn.) took charge, grabbing 13 of the team's 47 rebounds.
