Salve Regina scored first in the four minutes into the game before the Hawks rolled off three straight goals over a three-minute stretch to go up 3-1. Salve would respond with three goals of their own to go back up 4-3 with under a minute to play. Yet clutch shooting by Peter Navarro and Connor Hillemeir in the final minute allowed the Hawks to take at 5-4 lead entering the second.

The Hawk offense went to work in the second, putting up six scores in the frame compared to Salve's two scores. RWU was able to roll off three consecutive scores within a minute late in the period to help take an 11-6 lead into halftime.

The tide would turn in Salve's favor in the third quarter. The Seahawks notched back-to-back goals in the first two minutes to pull within three. After a man-up goal by Jared Grier, Salve scored three more times to make it a 12-11 game. Then in the final minute of the third, the Seahawks tallied three more goals in the final three minutes to take a 15-14 lead.

In the fourth, Salve built the lead to four with three more scores to open the frame. Roger Williams managed to pull within two, getting a goal with 3:19 left to play. Yet the Seahawk defense was able to hold on the rest of the way, keeping the Hawks off the board and coming away with the Quahog Cup.
