The Bison scored a pair of games to take the lead before Tim Mullane (Hanover, Mass.) put in a goal in the final seconds of the first quarter to tie the game at two.

Both teams would trade a pair goals in the second quarter to put the game at a 4-4 tie going into halftime. Then in the opening minute of the third, Nichols' Ethan Hopey regained the lead for the Bison with a goal. Afterwards, Roger Williams' Navarro and Andrew Gaffney combined for three consecutive goals to go up 7-5. The Bison would then score two of the final three scores in the quarter to pull within one going into the fourth.

Noah Ravas (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) began the fourth with a goal before Nichols notched back-to-back goals to tie the game at nine. Gaffney came through for RWU with 2:25 left to play to give the Hawks a 10-9 lead.
