BRISTOL, R.I. — The Roger Williams Women's Tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory Saturday afternoon over Western New England University.

Heidi Martin (Scituate, Mass.) earned an 8-0 win at #1 doubles against Maylene LaPress (Bedford, N.H.) Janet Martinelli (Vernon, Conn.) while
Emma Place (Francestown, N.H.) and
Olivia Santoro (Cheshire, Conn.) won 8-5 at #2 over at Aliza McLeish (Chicopee, Mass.) Arriana Hasiuk (Chicopee, Mass.). At #3 doubles,
Tanya Gianitsos (Old Saybrook, Conn.) and
Kate Hardy (Southington, Conn.) edged Jessica Cote (Groton, Conn.) and Kaylin Gibbons (Berkley, Mass.) 8-6.
At singles, Place and
Alexa DiCesare (Norwood, Mass.) posted identical 6-2, 6-0 wins at #1 and #4 over LaPress and McLeish, respectively. Cahoon took her #2 singles match 6-3, 6-1 against Martinelli while Martin downed Hasiuk 6-3, 6-2 at #3. At #5, Gianitsos won 6-0, 6-1 over Cote and Santoro wrapped up things with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Sydney Lewis (Goffstown, N.H.).
