Men’s Lacrosse Sets Down Wentworth

BOSTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Men's Lacrosse team logged a 16-8 road victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology Wednesday evening.

How It Happened
Wentworth took the lead after the first quarter with a pair of goals. Jared Grier had the lone tally for RWU in the opening period. The Hawks would take charge in the second quarter with seven scores in the period. An Andrew Gaffney score three minutes in tied the game at two to kick off a 5-0 Hawk run. RWU would take a 6-2 lead before Wentworth halted the rally with one minute left in the half. Daniel Civiello would score the final goal of the quarter in the final seconds to give RWU a 7-3 lead.
 
In the third quarter, the Hawks built the lead to seven with three goals in the first seven minutes of play. The Leopards rolled off two goals to end the quarter, yet RWU remained on top by five.
 
The Hawks continued to pour on the goals in the final quarter. The Hawks rolled off six goals in the period, four of which came from Grier. His final goal put the Hawks up 16-8 which would be the final score.
