How It Happened
The Hawks knew they would have their work cut out for them going against Tufts, who came into the game ranked #3 in the nation in the latest IWLCA poll. However, Roger Williams hung with the Jumbos throughout the first half of play and early on in the second half.

Lauren Flahive notched the first goal of the game for the Hawks at the 25:15 mark and scored the second tally of the game 13 minutes later. Roger Williams managed to hold the Jumbos scoreless over the first 20 minutes of play. Keeper Hannah Goodwin helped the cause with three saves within a minute to keep Tufts off the scoreboard. It would not be until 10:47 left in the half when Ananda Kao (Andover, Mass.) scored for the Jumbos.

The Jumbos managed to eventually tie the game at three apiece with just under six minutes to play in the first half. Flahive would connect for her fourth goal of the game with three minutes left, but a pair of goals to end the half gave Tufts a slim 5-4 advantage at halftime.

Roger Williams came out of the break with a goal in the first four minutes to tie the game back up at five. Two minutes later, Caroline Sapir notched a goal for Tufts to regain the lead. That score would spark a 7-0 run for the Jumbos to put them up 12-5 with 16:49 to play. Julia Kelley managed to end the scoring drought with 11 minutes left in the game, but that would be the Hawks final score of the game as the deficit proved to be too much for RWU to overcome.
