BOSTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Men's Golf team claimed first place at the Emmanuel Invitational Thursday afternoon, marking the team's first tournament win since being reinstated as a varsity program back in 2013.
Hawk Highlights
The Hawks were dominant across the board, with four of the five RWU golfers that competed finishing in the top six. Leading the way for the Hawks was
Ben Brodeur (Whitinsville, Mass.), who took second place with his round of 76, just two strokes behind medalist Drew Mathieu of St. Joseph's (Maine).
Freshman
Trevor Hada (Los Angeles, Calif.) made his collegiate debut and impressed with a score of 76, tying for third place.
Burke Howell (Beverly, Mass.) also carded a 76 to tie for third place as well.
Terry Baker (Fiskdale, Mass.) was one stroke behind Hada and Howell, finishing at +7 to take sixth place overall and round of the Hawk scoring. Also competing on the day for RWU was
Owen Wallace (Natick, Mass.), who tied for 11
th with his round of 81.
