BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team lost just a single set on their way to a 9-0 sweep over Suffolk University on Wednesday evening at the RWU Tennis Courts. The Hawks bounced back with the in-conference victory after falling to Nichols College on Saturday to remain undefeated against the Rams.

The Hawks roared through doubles play without dropping a single set.
Alessia Cahoon (Dedham, Mass.) and
Emma Place (Francestown, N.H.) took doubles #1, 8-0, over Kendall Smith (Stuttgart, Germany) and Barbara Consales (Barquisimento-Lara, Venezuela).
Gianna Ferraro (Westerly, R.I.) and
Olivia Santoro (Cheshire, Conn.) swept Guiliana Claus (Panama) and Dyani Mosquera (Forest Hills, N.Y.), 8-0 in doubles #2. Finally, in doubles #3,
Gracie McCarthy (Marion, Mass.) and
Kate Hardy (Southington, Conn.) defeated Alyssa Blade (Killingly, Conn.) and Bianca Prescott (East Granby, Conn.), 8-0.
The Rams did not fare much better in singles. Place took care of Smith in the #1 flight, 6-0, 6-0. In the #2 flight, Cahoon beat Claus, 6-0, 6-0. Ferraro handled Prescott in singles #3, 6-0, 6-0. In singles #4, the Hawks went with fresh legs in
Alexa DiCesare (Norwood, Mass.), but the result was the same as she defeated Mosquera, 6-0, 6-0. McCarthy beat Blade 6-0, 6-0 in singles #5. Then in singles #6, the Rams finally won a set, however Santoro nonetheless beat Consales, 6-0, 6-1.
